Steeltown Horns (Reggie Watkins - trombone, Rick Matt - saxophone, and JD Chaisson - trumpet) is an internationally touring horn section and the frontline of their powerhouse group The Steeltown Horns Band. The group has opened for The Wailers, Rose Royce, The New Mastersounds, John Medesky, The Nth Power Mike Dillon and The Commonheart. In addition to spending several years working with New Orleans funk royals Dumpstaphunk, they have worked with Aaron Neville, Arianna Grande, Jason Mraz, Eric Krasno, Trombone Shorty,Fred Wesley, Amy Helm, Karl Denson and others. They have performed at many festivals including The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival,The Toronto Jazz Festival, The Aruba Jazz Festival, The Peach Festival, The Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival and Jam Cruise 2016. Steeltown Horns will release their first album, “5 Years of Funk”, Friday May 26, 2023. The album reflects their journey and influences over a five year period of touring, recording and composing.”

Big Jus, also known as J Short, is a Pittsburgh based rapper, songwriter and producer. Beginning his career in the 1990’s he has collaborated on multiple albums, working with many artist-producers such as legendary Hip-Hop producer Sam Sneed (Death Row Records ) and Liz Berlin (Rusted Root ).  

As part of the We Rock Workshop he mentors at-risk youth through providing free songwriting, recording, production and performance opportunities.  “Stars” , the first single from his upcoming album “Throneless Kingdom”  was viewed nearly 50,000 times within weeks of its release in January 2023. His lyrical creativity, fearless musical production combined with his consistent hustle has earned him artistic credibility.
