Piling into an RV with their belongings, their instruments, and all the whiskey they could carry (in the cooler), they made their way from Gadsden, AL to Nashville, TN. All living all under one roof, Them Dirty Roses are a living example of the quintessential rock and roll American Dream. From the start, they were the definition of a workingman's country band, cutting their teeth with five-hour sets on Austin's dancehall circuit before spreading their music to the rest of America. By the early 2020s, they'd become global ambassadors of homegrown Texas music, flying their flag everywhere from Abbey Road Studios (where they recorded 2019's Cheap Silver & Solid Country Gold with help from the London Symphony Orchestra) to the Grand Ole Opry. Their music balances the strengths they've accumulated along the way — sharp, detailed songwriting that bounces between autobiographical sketches and character studies; gorgeous swells of pedal steel that drift through the songs like weather; a rhythm section capable of country shuffles, hard-charging rock & roll tempos, and everything in between — with a willingness to break old rules and open new doors. There's a smart sense of history here — a celebration not only of where the band is headed, where they've been, too. Even so, Silverada doesn't spend much time looking in the rearview mirror. Instead, it keeps its gaze focused on the road ahead. This is a snapshot of a band in motion, chasing down the next horizon, writing the soundtrack to some new discovery. It's the sound of alchemy, of some new metal being forged. And like silver itself, Silverada shines brightly.
John Craigiewith special guest HumbirdThursday, September 10, 2026Thunderbird Music Hall 4053 Butler St. Pittsburgh, PA 15201Doors @ 7PMShow @ 8PMAge Restriction: 18+ or accompanied by legal guardian. https://johncraigie.com/The album’s singles trace the path of its making. “Fire Season,” engineered by Bart Budwig, was one of the first songs written and features Cooper Trail, Nevada Sowle, Luke Ydstie, and Jamie Greenan. “Dry Land” was reworked in Astoria after early New Orleans sessions didn’t feel right. “Edna Strange,” inspired by Marty Robbins, is the only track where Craigie plays steel string acoustic, with Max Bien Khan on nylon string leads and a trio vocal arrangement in place of Moss’s harmonies. Craigie remains a tireless live performer, touring throughout the U.S., Europe, and Australia, appearing at festivals like Newport Folk, Pickathon, Edmonton Folk Festival, and High Sierra, and sharing the stage with artists such as Langhorne Slim, Sierra Hull, Gregory Alan Isakov, Brett Dennen, and Jack Johnson. His annual #KeepItWarm Tour donates $1 from every ticket sold to regional nonprofits, and his John Craigie On The River trips on the Tuolumne and Rogue rivers have become cherished gatherings for fans.Following 2024’s Pagan Church with TK & The Holy Know-Nothings, which spent six weeks at #1 on the Americana Albums chart, I Swam Here feels both expansive and intimate, shaped by the musical history of the Gulf Coast and the stillness of the Pacific Northwest. -https://www.humbirdmusic.comThere’s something refreshingly humane about uncertainty; about having the guts to try, even if you might be wrong. This is the central tenant of Humbird’s third full-length album, Right On, a radical ethos in this soap-box age, and an effort worth turning up the amps for, resulting in the project’s most electric, playful, mettled record yet. The majority of the songs showcase a locked-in rock trio, a progression from the contemplative folk musings of their previous releases. Even so, Right On incorporates friendly winks to the more whimsical, soundscape-y improvisations that audiences have come to expect from a Humbird performance - electrified, gritty, Midwest Americana with a little magic fairy dust thrown in. For loyal fans and new Humbird listeners alike, Right On is a mischievously kind offering: a whole heap of songs that are unafraid to bask in the perfectly ordinary and also excruciating possibility that sometimes we’re right, often we’re wrong, but no matter what, music can meet us where we’re at and keep us company along the way.Ticket Tier Info:Upper Balcony Tickets - Seated Section with Private Bar, Private Bathroom, and a View. When the sounds transform the air and the listener. This record transports the listener into the heart of the music of Mdou Moctar. The blending of intention and motivation creates a burst of sound that embraces and shakes and invites one to dance! It invites one to breathe. It invites one to be in solidarity with the music. It invites one to be in touch with the human condition. What does it mean to be free in these times? Can the world be liberated from the colonial mindstate that has caused such harm and mistrust? Can we mourn our losses yet build anew to form something more astounding, more fantastic? Funeral For Justice says we can. A sound that carries weight makes an impact. A sound that carries time transcends time. We are not only listening to music but we are living through it. We are living with it. We are living in it. The artist sees history and makes poetry from it for the present. Mdou Moctar’s Funeral For Justice requests your presence. Show up open to the celebration of life, loved as it should be loved. Experience the exaltation and exuberance. The words speak of ascension, awareness, sorrow, apathy, knowing, and growth. The guitars speak of power, energy, jubilation, transcendency, immediacy, and tradition. The drums and percussion mark the pulse of now as well as a timeless dance that involves us all, as it did those that came before us. The wires that carry the message feel alive with fire and purpose, explosive with possibility. This “funeral” is an acknowledgment. This “funeral” is abundant. This “funeral” overflows into the street filled with dance. This “funeral” stretches late into the night, kicking up the dirt, with the hum of a generator, an ever present member of the rhythm section. This “funeral” is a clarion call for reason and a belief that change is possible. So join Mdou Moctar in this funeral for justice, knowing rebirth is possible. A new justice is possible. With your voice, your heart, your dance, your stomp, a new justice is born. Mdou Moctar welcomes you with joy and open arms. Be here. Feel here and do, alongside this music. Don’t stand alone, join with others and do. Fight for liberation. Stand against oppression, alongside this music and do! Johnson hails from, is a largely flatexpanse. Zipping through it on the highway, you’ll see cities and towns rise up in the distance, butblink and you’ll miss other man-made rejoinders to horizontal living dotting the landscape, hill afterhill, built from the refuse of the past: landfills. Some of these hills make for great sledding spots, parks, and trails. Others turn organic waste into compost. The Landfill, Fruit Bats’ June 12, 2026album from Merge Records, is something else entirely: a mountain dominating the landscape ofJohnson’s heart. This being a Fruit Bats record, one scales that mountain to take in the view, to see the future spreadout as wide and endless as the midwestern plains. “But the mountain that gives us this vantagepoint,” Johnson says, “is made out of the trash that we’ve created, the collective weight of the pastand where it’s taken us.” When he details that view on title track and lead single “The Landfill” —“a holy vision / of what could be / and couldn’t be / and could have been” — it’s thrilling to hearhim sent soaring by a full complement of instruments. But what’s truly stunning is how, in hisrecontouring from could to couldn’t to could have been, he has lost none of the vulnerability thatwas brought to the foreground of his songwriting by 2025’s solo outing, Baby Man. On their new album The Last Balloon, the New Orleans-bred outfit channel those impulses into something celebratory yet profoundly human, exploring themes of frustration, resilience, and self-realization with equal parts raw emotionality and playful exuberance. A shapeshifting collective helmed by lead singer Tarriona “Tank” Ball and multi-instrumentalist Norman Spence II, the globally beloved group completed the LP after winning a GRAMMY for 2024’s spoken-word powerhouse The Heart, The Mind, The Soul, moving from incendiary poetry to a euphoric collision of soul and hip-hop and forward-thinking R&B. As the final installment in a trilogy of albums that began with 2019’s Green Balloon (a critical triumph that earned them a GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist), The Last Balloon ultimately solidifies Tank and the Bangas’ legacy as one of modern music’s most steadfast voices of sublime exhilaration. https://www.arieljmusic.com/ Ariel J. is an artist and former church musician born and raised in Mississippi, whose music blends poetic storytelling, soulful melodies, and forward-thinking production to create a sound that teels both timeless and futuristic. She began singing and learning instruments as a child and started to perform at the age of five. At seventeen, Ariel began writing songs and teaching herself to engineer her own music. Rooted in R&B yet unbound by genre, her work explores themes of resilience, human connection, and wonder in the face of rapid technological and cultural change. With every release, Ariel J. seeks to spark reflection and empowerment, inviting listeners into a world where creativity, truth, and hope lead the way. More than just music, Ariel J's mission is to remind people of their own power to imagine, build, and sustain a better future. Now, four yearssince their last album “Foreverglade” (2021), the band has only grown more powerful, showcasing alevel of grandiose songcraft that is beyond modern compare. Worm has managed to somehow do whatmany others in this day and age can only attempt: They walk backwards into the future.Thematically, the album lives in a world of its own. A world of lush velvet and ostentatious gold, coveredin the dust of time. A world where shadows seem to move in your peripheral vision, yet the lonelinessnever ceases. A world where wounds of the flesh may heal, but those of the heart never do. Enter if youdare, but know now the consequences of your choice.“Necropalace”, manifests itself as the soundscape to a star laden December night sky reflecting off theEverglades’ darkest slough; where death meets the deathless. The Strike released their debut album "Faint of Heart" in June of 2017, which was met with great enthusiasm nationally. The success of the record allowed them to expand their presence into Los Angeles from the greater Mountain West region where the band started. In 2022 the band signed with Nettwerk Music Group and released their follow-up album “The Lost Years,” which helped them garner national attention and begin touring. The Strike will be releasing their third studio album in the Fall of 2024. The album was recorded with acclaimed producer John Fields (Switchfoot, Ben Rector, Corey Wong). The Strike is known for their captivating live performances. In an age of musical minimalism, The Strike is reminiscent of rock bands from the 70's and 80's. They feature true showmanship in an age where the art of performance has been forgotten. Chris Crabb's vocal style is akin to rock vocalists such as John Waite, or Steve Perry. The band members are all students at their craft. Those who attend Strike shows become instant fans. As those shows celebrated the band’s 50th anniversary, Circles Around The Sun’s earliestcompositions Interludes For The Dead were designed to reflect the Dead’s overall spacey, improvised, and groove-laden feel. The response was so positive that they continued on with a follow-up project, Let It Wander, in2018. This record was less influenced by the Dead and more free-form, delivering on the rootsinfluence of jazz-funk, soul, and fusion. The band underwent a fundamental transition in 2019. After completing the Meets Joe RussoEP and a third album, their guitarist Neal Casal died on August 26, 2019. He left his bandmatesa note asking for them to continue in his absence– to continue recording, touring, and playingtogether. As they tapped into their infinite fascination with that strange duality, singer/guitarist John McCauley, guitarist/singer Ian O’Neil, drummer/singer Dennis Ryan, and bassist Christopher Ryan assembled a batch of songs exploring desperation, grief, redemption, and resilience with both cinematic detail and lived-in emotionality. Listeners are taken on ajourney to the musical netherworld through esoteric soundscapes punctuated by raw, primal power.Odd Times, lespecial’s darkest and heaviest record to date, is an enigmatic and compelling musical project that explores the ever-changing nature of time amidst isolation.
WALTER TROUTThursday, April 23, 2026Thunderbird Music Hall 4053 Butler St. Pittsburgh, PA 15201Doors @ 7PMShow @ 8PMAge Restriction: 18+https://www.waltertrout.com Great artists take the pulse of their times. In his half-century as a street-level social observer and scaldingly honest songwriter, blues-rock’s resilient icon Walter Trout has never told his fans what to think, how to feel, where to stand politically, or what to scrawl on their protest placards. But in an era when his home nation – and the wider world – is ripping at the seams over the battlelines of modern life, the iconic US bluesman’s hard-rocking new album, Sign Of The Times, is the primal scream and pressure valve we all desperately need. “I wanted to convey the anger and angst goingon in the world,” explains the 74-year-old. “For me, writing these songs is therapy. They’re not just about what’s happening out there, but how it affects you in your head. Sign Of The Times just became the obvious title…” Right now, it feels like the amps have barely cooled from 2024’s Broken (“That record debuted on Billboard at #1 – I was very, very pleased with that”). But the era-chronicling songs from Sign Of The Times wouldn’t wait, these urgent riffs flying off the guitarist’s fingers, assisted once again by Dr Marie Trout, Walter’s wife, manager and latterly co-writer, whose eloquent lyrics struck each subject on the head. “This album flowed pretty easily,” he reflects of the writing process. “I had so many song ideas and pages of lyrics from Marie. We could have kept going and made a triple album.” With ten new songs written and arranged, Trout was ready to call up his studio band – longtime drummer Michael Leasure, bassist John Avila and keys man Teddy ‘Zig Zag’ Andreadis – for sessions at producer Thomas Ross Johansen’s Strawhorse Studios in Los Angeles. Immediately, the tinderbox subject matter sparked one of the toughest-sounding records in his catalogue. “Let me put it this way,” considers Trout, “after we finished recording the title track, my keys player Teddy said, ‘Well, you won’t be winning a blues award this year’. But I really felt like rocking on this album. We hadheavy things to talk about, and we went for it musically too.” Ticket Tier Info:Floor Seat Tickets: Seated Section on the Main Floor, closest to the stage. Goodman returns from the Western Kentucky bottomland with her third studio album, ‘Planting by the Signs,' out everywhere on 6/20/25. Her first album in three years, it is a reminder of the Kentucky born and raised singer-songwriter’s razor-sharp lyricism, singular voice and seamless blend of indie rock and subtle rural influences. 'Planting by the Signs' finds Goodman exploring themes in the only way she knows; with a fresh musical and lyrical perspective, vivid, incisive detail, and a heaping dose of empathy and compassion. Lead single "Fire Sign" is out now. S.G. Goodman catapulted onto the scene in 2020 with her debut album Old Time Feeling – possibly the worst time to emerge, and yet, her talent was undeniable. She immediately garnered attention from NPR, Rolling Stone, and more, and took her show on the road across the world, gaining fans and followers, even landing a fan in Tyler Childers, who covered her song "Space and Time." In 2022, she released Teeth Marks, a critical darling that leveled her up, gaining praise from the New York Times, landing her an NPR Tiny Desk, landing on Pitchfork and NPR’s Best Of lists, and earning her the Best Emerging Artist Award at the 2023 Americana Awards. After nearly three years of promotion on the road, Goodman decamped to the Nutt House in Sheffield, AL, in the fall of 2024 to create 'Planting by the Signs,' her best record to date. The line up also includes sweet harmonies and a tight rhythm section consisting of Christopher Manjarrez (Bass), Francisco Flores (Guitar), Bryan Ponce (Guitar/vox), Luis Carpio (Drums/vox) and Adriana Flores (Vox). Together they are a part of a community of musicians who are tying together the nostalgic and the classic with the innovative and the new to bring a unique sound to soul music. Thee Sinseers are part of the Colemine Records family led by Terry Cole, who released their first singles, “It Was Only A Dream” and “I Don’t Mind” in 2019, with a full length LP, “Sinseerly Yours” releasing in March 2024. The band’s song “Seems Like” was also included in the inaugural compilation, “Presenting Penrose Records” from the Penrose imprint of the renowned, Brooklyn-based label, Daptone Records. The song “It Was Only A Dream” was featured in the feature film “Self Reliance” starring Jake Johnson, and in the TV show, “Riverdale.” To date, Thee Sinseers have dazzled audiences across the country in soul strongholds such as California, Texas, New York, Chicago, Oregon, and more. The road is paved in love and soul and Thee Sinseers are on their way to a venue near you soon. The Altons Emerging from Southeast Los Angeles, The Altons have become a fixture in the burgeoning West Coast souldies scene. Helping launch the Daptone Records imprint Penrose as one of the five premier groups on the label, The Altons blossomed from selling out local nightclubs to performing on the grand stages of Austin City Limits and the Corona Capital festival in Mexico–selling thousands of 45s in the process. The heart of The Altons' alluring sound is the distinctive and oft romantic vocal harmony of Adriana Flores and Bryan Ponce. Their voices intertwine effortlessly, bringing a level of intimacy and sincerity to the music that groups can seldom achieve. Ponce’s virtuosic guitar playing is anchored by the formidable rhythm section of Caitlin Moss on drums and Chris “Bolillo” Manjarrez on bass, creating a captivatingly organic synergy . Together, the evolution of their sound can best be heard via the soulful, sing-along hit singles: “Over and Over” [borrowed as the viral song "Otra Vez" by ProdMarvin, which took over TikTok and Instagram in 2023,] and “When You Go (That’s When You’ll Know)” [sampled by Mary J. The son of Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist Ted Broussard of "The Boogie Kings," he nurtured his musical gifts at an early age in the vibrant Lafayette, Louisiana, music scene. After releasing a highly successful independent EP at age 20, Broussard made his major-label debut withCarencro. The album featured the breakout hit "Home" and propelled him into the international spotlight. That album and the others that followed revealed Broussard as a Southern soul singer with a rarefied talent and an innate stylistic and emotional authenticity that has made him one of the most indelible artists of his generation. The Louisiana-born and raised artist has created a wide range of music in his career. Carencro laid the groundwork with unequaled style, illustrating his knack for modern soul music and setting the stage for his long and distinguished career. Broussard released multiple albums with major labels over the last ten years before returning to his independent roots with several acclaimed original recordings and charitable cover albums via his S.O.S. Foundation (Save our Soul). Broussard's latest album, Time Is a Thief, is a heartfelt collection of ten original songs that showcase the celebrated Louisiana singer-songwriter's gritty, rootsy hooks and infectious grooves, all conveyed through his fervent vocals. The album marks his first release of original music in seven years and features the uplifting single “Give You The World.” The album has been hailed as "a new masterwork that transcends his previous body of work like the crown jewel does the ascent stones," by Blues Rock Review. Louisiana's The Advocate cited that the "album represents Broussard's soul- and rhythm-and-blues-informed style better than anything that preceded it." The album was produced by Grammy-winning guitarist/songwriter/producer Eric Krasno and Grammy-nominated producer/guitarist Jeremy Most. In February 2026, Broussard will release a new studio album, S.O.S. V Songs of the '50s, viahis Artist Tone Records. The eleven-song set features intoxicating renditions of soul, blues, rock, and pop classics from the Fifties, two gems from the early Sixties, and a Broussard original. This vibrant collection offers a sublime showcase for Broussard's dynamic vocal prowess, revealing his craftsmanship and passion for an impressive range of enduring American music. S.O.S. V Songs of the '50s is Broussard's latest entry in his philanthropic album series benefiting the nonprofit organization, Love of People, based in Broussard's hometown of Lafayette, LA. The band (Rick Miller – guitar and vocals, Mary Huff – bass and vocals, Dave Hartman – drums) has been playing together for over 30 years. Their musical journey has taken them from all-night North Carolina house parties to late night TV talk shows (Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show), from performing at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan to rockin’ out for the inmates at North Carolina correctional facilities. They’ve shared a stage with many musical luminaries including Link Wray, Loretta Lynn, Hasil Adkins and Patti Smith. Their music has been featured in movies and TV, parodied by Weird Al, and used to sell everything from diamonds to pork sausage. In 2014 the band was honored by the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with an exhibition featuring their music and cultural contributions. Their legendary live shows are a testament to the therapeutic powers of foot-stomping, butt-shaking rock and roll and what Rolling Stone dubbed “a hell raising rock and roll party.” At Home with Southern Culture on the Skids is the latest full length album from the band and was released in March of 2021. It was recorded during the stay at home period of the pandemic when the band was at home and not touring. The album consists of 11 tracks recorded and mixed in Rick Miller’s living room with some additional tracks recorded at his studio, The Kudzu Ranch. The first radio single off the album is “Run Baby Run”—a rocking number with deep garage roots. SCOTS bassist Mary Huff provides an urgent vocal while the band pulls back the throttle on a full race fuzz fest—cause she’s gotta to go fast! Run Baby Run!The other songs on the album are a combination of the band’s unique mix of musical genres: rock and roll, surf, folk and country—all a bit off-center, what Rick proudly calls “our wobbly Americana”. Rick goes on, “We put a few more acoustic guitars on this one, as you would expect if you recorded in your living room, but it still rocks like SCOTS. So put your headphones on, get in your favorite chair/sofa/recliner, put on “At Home With” and let’s hang out for a while.”Ticket Info:General Admission Tickets - Standing Room Only There are no additional entry protocols at this time.
91.3 WYEP presents Bahamas with Sister Ray Saturday, May 2, 2026Thunderbird Music Hall4053 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PADoors @ 7pmShow @ 8pmAGE RESTRICTION: 18+ or with legal guardian Afie Jurvanen doesn’t spend much time in cities anymore. For nearly two decades he was a Toronto mainstay — a trusted collaborator for Feist, The Weather Station, and Kathleen Edwards, and the architect behind Bahamas. Across six albums he’s grown from the restless spark of Pink Strat to the warm domestic calm of Bootcut. Drawn to open space, Jurvanen moved his family to Nova Scotia in 2019, living, he jokes, “close to Mennonite.” The kids are homeschooled, no one has an iPad, and texts feel like miracles. But after recording Bootcut in Nashville with country legends Vince Gill, Sam Bush, and Mickey Raphael, he came home wondering if he could make more music outside the city. That question led to My Second Last Album, recorded in a backyard shed with fellow expat Joshua Van Tassel. They played every note themselves — from the buzzing acoustics of “Shadows” to the dreamy Mellotron of “Play the Game” — following their instincts wherever they led. The result is loose, luminous, and quietly bold. Lyrically, Jurvanen is at his most candid and playful, musing on government handouts, early mornings, and raising daughters. “Don’t hold back / share your opinion,” he sings on “Sauna.” It’s an album about living simply, choosing joy, and belonging. Unsure what to do with it at first, Jurvanen finally realized the obvious: he loved these songs, this snapshot of who he’d become — a husband, father, and musician content to make music by the sea. Inspired by artists including Nina Simone and John Prine, she careens through American popular song, from sultry jazz to pop-punk protest anthems, seeking to delight and galvanize her listener without sacrificing melody or fun. Born and raised in western North Carolina, Nathan Evans Fox aspires to write songs that sound the way gas stations feel. When it comes to Nathan’s approach, Americana Highways writes, “It’s not cornpone, it’s not alt-country, country-western, or pop-country. Fox has a solid hold on a serious genre of country seldom covered by many artists. It cuts through the commerciality of country music.” Ticket Tier Info:Upper Balcony Tickets - Seated Section with Private Bar, Private Bathroom, and a View. Sold in packages of 4 or 2. The Utah-via-Hawaii group was born on the shores of Oahu in 2015, as teenage buddies Tyke James (vocals/guitar) and Addison Sharp (guitar) picked up a gig serenading diners at local taco trucks in between surf sessions. Naturally, their songs took shape in the spirit of the island, imbued with the joyfulness and breeziness of reggae culture yet cut with the introspection and communal spirit of mainland indie acts like Pinegrove and Cage the Elephant. No matter how listeners choose to interact with The Moss’s music, the band just hopes they feel something. It’s that kinetic relationship between band and audience that makes their live performances – including a pitch-perfect recent set for Audiotree – so compelling. “No matter what we do, we want to make sure the songs are fun to play live,” says Fowler. “We pride ourselves on being a band people want to see live.” https://goodboydaisy.com/ For identical twins Hallie and Dylinn Mayes, forming Good Boy Daisy wasn’t just a band, it was a natural extension of their lifelong bond. Hailing from Scottsdale, AZ, the sisters created the band in 2015, carving out a unique space within the indie rock landscape. While their sound pulses with vibrant pop sensibilities, the raw energy of their ’90s grunge upbringing remains a potent undercurrent, fueling their dynamic performances. Good Boy Daisy’s journey has been marked by significant milestones, including recognition from AP Magazine’s ‘100 Artists You Need To Know’ and multiple electrifying performances at Summerfest. Most recently, they captivated audiences at Innings Festival in Tempe, AZ, sharing the stage with acts like Fall Out Boy, Incubus, Beck, and The Killers, further solidifying their growing presence in the music scene. They’ve also shared stages with Young the Giant, Friday Pilots Club, and Highly Suspect, demonstrating their versatility and ability to captivate diverse audiences. With new music on the horizon and an unwavering dedication to their live shows, Good Boy Daisy continues to forge their own path, delivering a sound that’s both intimately personal and undeniably powerful. The music draws on a multitude of genres and styles to form a hodgepodge of dirty, heavy rock and roll mixed with sensual and at times even, carnal blues. After their debut album “I Am” in 2014, The band spent a few years cutting their teeth in dive bars, dancehalls, and honky tonks around Texas. In 2017, during the recording of their sophomore record "Burn The Ships" the guys quit their day jobs, moving into a small house together inPalestine, TX. The house created an unbreakable fellowship between the band and a culture of constant creativity.
