Local Music ShowcaseJoin us for a night with three of Pittsburgh’s most unique and eclectic bands, celebrating the end of a chapter for Fermented Beats’ current lineup. Expect to be taken on a soundscape journey, exploring genres from progressive jazz fusion and neo-classical, to avant-rock and funk.
Fermented Beatshttps://fermentedbeatsmusic.com/
Fermented Beats is a genre-bending collective that creates bass-driven instrumental music with engaging horns, unique effects, and driving drums. Embracing a diverse breadth of genres, from psych rock and jazz to experimental prog and neo-classical, the band utilizes the sounds of clarinet, saxophone and effects to leave listeners scratching their head in awe and curiosity. Rooted in Pittsburgh, the group also explores the abstract, gritty, and experimental nature of their personalities. Inspired by nature and fermentation, and motivated by society’s inequities, they strive to push themselves through odd time signatures and adventurous compositions. Glance around the stage and you might find vegetables (likely beets) or a jar of fermented vegetables (also likely beets) floating about.
blott (est. 2025) is a five-piece art rock/neo-fusion group formed by Highland Park-based keyboardist and composer, Henry Schultz. Their live performances consist of bombastic and occasionally dark, synthesizer-heavy originals rife with chaotic improvisation, ambient soundscapes, pretty parts, glimmers of prog, and bits of funk.

the Alfomega
the Alfomega is a group based out of Pittsburgh, PA founded on the creative partnership of Cecily McGowan and Chris Wood. We combine ascendent musicianship, unique soundscapes and a thoughtful balance of progressive songcraft and exploratory improvisation. We work with a series of collaborators to not only bring our vision to life but to push the envelope of what is possible in a live setting with a limited number of musicians.
