Located in New York city the Ruff Ryders started as a music label in 1988. Founded by siblings Joaquin ”Waah”, Darin “Dee” and Chivon Dean. The record label became home of artist such as Eve, Drag-On, the L.O.X, Swizz Beats and the legendary DMX.
In an effort to promote the artist “street teams” were formed. Street teams were made up of motorcycle riders who would distribute flyers for upcoming Ruff Ryder concerts in various cities. Adopting the set-up of the MC culture these teams eventually grew to become full Ruff Ryder chapters and those chapters became known as the Ruff Ryders Lifestyles
In 2005 Ricky “B-Bad” Wright decided to start a chapter in Pittsburgh PA. He along with Jason “Jigga” Adams and a number of other Pittsburgh motorcyclists formed the Pittsburgh chapter.
Immediately making a name for themselves, the Pittsburgh Ruff Ryders took over the city. Parties, Bike Nights, anniversaries and most importantly the streets. The Ruff Ryder ”Street Team” could be filmed doing wheelies all over the city. (Check Youtube)
Over the last 18yrs many members have come and gone but the foundation and fundamentals remain. A solid group of women & men who love motorcycles and giving back to the community via various charities and other events. A group of individuals whom formulated a bond like a true family.
