To declare one thematic narrative from Lucha, Y La Bamba’s seventh album, would be to chisel away a story within a story within a story into the illusion of something singular.

While peeling back layers of the past to better understand the present has been integral to this period of growth for Mendoza Ramos, time, trauma, and history can feel like interconnected, abysmal loops and music has remained a trusted space for Mendoza Ramos to process, experiment, and channel her learnings into a creative practice. In this way, Lucha has become cyclical, documenting the parallel trust Mendoza Ramos has built with herself to allow the songs to guide how they should be sung, or even sound.

We are Zinnia’s Garden. A Pittsburgh based band rooted in bringing you ethereal rock, straight from our divine feminine souls to yours. All 4 members of Zinnia’s Garden write, play, and sing, and perform original material ranging from ethereal rock to power pop. We’re rounding out our second album to release in late 2023 with the hope of coming into this New Growth like a seed sprouting in spring.

"From acoustic pop songs steeped in bolero and mariachi to vibrant lo-fi rock that dances between English and Spanish, it's never been easy to predict which direction Portland's Y La Bamba will go next," announced NPR's World Cafe in a segment called "Heavy Rotation: 10 Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing".
