“Well the first days are the hardest days, don’t you worry any more” – Uncle John’s Band
The Dead of Winter is a homegrown Grateful Dead Festival in the darkest days of the year. Come out to the first show on Friday night to hear some the greatest songs from the early years of The Dead. Come back for the second show on Saturday night to celebrate songs from the later catalogue of The Dead.
theCAUSE is a band consisting of 5 Pittsburgh musicians who have all been around the proverbial block. Playing tunes from Grateful Dead, Phish, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and MORE, including some very tasty originals, theCAUSE packs a punch while still paying close attention to the delicate touch.
Taking notes from the paths of their idols, SamJAMwich embraces the idea of doing-it-yourself when it comes to being a JAM band. Between familiar verses from the great American songbook you’re as likely to hear a raucous guitar solo as you are a soulful melody from the piano or even an entirely new composition before that same song comes back into focus. Culled from separate corners of the Pittsburgh area a few years back, the band has featured on-stage at Pittsburgh Winery, Mr. Smalls Funhouse, Bloom Brew & Thunderbird Music Hall.
JGBG is a bluegrass tribute to the songs of the Jerry Garcia songbook – including solo, Old & In The Way, Jerry Garcia Band and Grateful Dead tunes. Always a foot-stompin’ time and the songs you know and love. Joe on banjo, Andy on mandolin, Griff on fiddle, pUNK on bass and Pappy on guitar. Catch em on the 1st Tuesday of every month on the Front Porch!
