“Well the first days are the hardest days, don’t you worry any more” – Uncle John’s Band
The Dead of Winter is a homegrown Grateful Dead Festival in the darkest days of the year. Come out to the first show on Friday night to hear some the greatest songs from the early years of The Dead. Come back for the second show on Saturday night to celebrate songs from the later catalogue of The Dead.
theCAUSE is a band consisting of 5 Pittsburgh musicians who have all been around the proverbial block. Playing tunes from Grateful Dead, Phish, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and MORE, including some very tasty originals, theCAUSE packs a punch while still paying close attention to the delicate touch.
The Ditch is Pittsburgh’s hottest harmony group. Al Reiber (Taking Shapes, Reuben’s Painted Mandolin), Alex Talbot (Taking Shapes, Thunder In A Circle) and Eric “Pappy” Weingrad (theCAUSE, Reuben’s Painted Mandolin) have been taking audiences by storm in Pittsburgh. Most notably, this acoustic trio turned into a full band for an entire night of electric Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young for a nearly sold out show at The Cellar. Tonight, the acoustic trio will be reimagining songs from the Grateful Dead.
